Oreo or Cultured?

Hey folks let's jump right into it. The other day I was having a conversation with some friends and the topic of "Oreo" came up. For those not in the know, a black person is referred to as such when they either "dress white","talk white",or "act white", whatever that means. Now this has not only happened to my friend but me numerous times. The interesting thing about it is: I am only referred to as such by fellow blacks when I say something intelligent. This begs to question, Is intelligence in black people only considered a "White Thing"? I am constantly annoyed by this terminology and hate that black people have been conditioned to think that anything remotely doing with intelligence or something outside of Hiphop and R&B culture qualifies me as an Oreo. What happened to being praised for being articulate? Why not encourage some elaboration instead of chastising somebody for using terms other than "Nah Mean", "You know what I'm Sayin'?", Because sometimes I don't know what you are saying. The ultimate irony? I am into Hiphop and R&B and probably know about it than the average listener. This all ropes back around to my original statement, "Do not judge a book by it's cover, you never know what content is inside."
Take Care folks next I get into relationship stuff should be interesting. Cya!
